Absolute quantum advantage in light microscopy
Metamaterials, Metadevices, and Metasystems 2021, 2021State-of-the-art microscopes use intense lasers that can severely disturb biological processes, function and viability. This introduces hard limits on performance that only quantum photon correlations can overcome. In this talk I will report recent work from my laboratory which demonstrates this absolute quantum advantage [1].

THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF GLOBAL ABSOLUTE ADVANTAGE INT HE HECKSCHER-OHLIN MODEL OF TRADE
Oxford Economic Papers, 1988IN THE present note we draw attention to a neglected property of the standard Heckscher-Ohlin model of international trade. Consider a free-trading world composed of just two countries, a: and , each capable of producing two tradeable consumption goods under constant returns to scale, with the ownership of each country's assets equally shared by all ...

Dichotic identification of complex sounds: Absolute and relative ear advantages
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1982Dichotic identification of a variety of complex sounds was studied in seven listeners. Analysis of individual listeners’ scores shows that there are significant individual differences in terms of absolute ear advantage for a given sound, while comparison of such differences across stimuli reveals agreements among individuals as to relative ear ...

Absolute Cost Advantages and Barriers to Entry
1980In his book on Barriers to New Competition, Bain gives three main reasons for barriers to entry: absolute cost advantages of the incumbent firm, economies of scale and product differentiation advantages. In this chapter I want to discuss absolute cost advantages. Absolute cost advantages have many reasons. I want to discuss three of them.

The Classical View: Specialisation and Exchange, Absolute and Comparative Advantage
1998In dealing with a subject in a comprehensive manner, it is imperative to discuss, even if very briefly, how the subject evolved over time, that is, one ought to have a glance at the history of the development of thought, and in this instance, in the theory of international trade.
