Drifting to the top? The effects of category erraticism on status mobility in the U.S. venture capital industry

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary We examine the effects of category erraticism, that is, having moved across socio‐cognitively distant industry categories over time, on status mobility. We argue that it is not the breadth of the categories that a firm spans or the overall distance among those categories, but whether its movement across categories forms a ...

Five Decades of Dispute: A Triptych. Roald Hoffmann

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
This article examines the historical Corey–Woodward controversy through Roald Hoffmann's personal perspective, completing a triptych on the prolonged dispute. Drawing on archival records, contemporaneous correspondence, and extensive interviews, it reconstructs Hoffmann's interactions with Corey and Woodward from the 1960s onward.

A Spatio‐Temporal Dynamics Model for Indoor Environmental Forecasting

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, EarlyView.
Accurate forecasting of indoor environmental conditions is essential for intelligent building operations and comfort‐oriented controls. However, reliable prediction remains challenging due to spatial heterogeneity across sensing locations, complex multi‐modal interactions, and nonstationary temporal dynamics.

Nutrimental Determinants of Chronological Aging and Competitiveness in the snf1Δ Warburg Model

open access: yesYeast, EarlyView.
Deletion of SNF1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae alters chronological aging in a nutrient‐dependent manner, shortening lifespan under low‐nutrient conditions and extending it under high‐glucose and high‐amino‐acid conditions. Under nutrient‐rich conditions, the snf1∆ strain also showed an approximately 2‐log increase in competitiveness relative to the wild

Bridging the small‐angle X‐ray scattering–X‐ray diffraction gap in disordered layered materials: the CLADIFFMOD unified framework

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
A unified multi‐scale framework is proposed for the consistent analysis of small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) in disordered clay minerals, combining morphology, stacking and turbostratic contributions within a single formalism.

From foraging to decomposition: Large vertebrates as biotic drivers of trace element cycling across landscapes

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
We highlight an overlooked pathway in ecosystem functioning: the role of animal carcass decomposition in trace element cycling. By linking animal life cycles to landscape‐scale processes, we explain how large animals redistribute scarce elements and influence spatial heterogeneity, with implications for ecosystem functioning and restoration.

Alternative Contract Design: Analysing the Bankability of Fungible Derivative Contracts in Energy‐Only Markets

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the retirement of 21GW of legacy coal fleet looming, the task to replace Australia's thermal capacity with alternative firmed renewable ‘bulk energy’ solutions is non‐trivial. Indeed, calibrating necessary capital investment in new plant stock with efficient economic outcomes, vis‐à‐vis cost and reliability, represents a fundamental ...
