Euler’s inequality in absolute geometry
Journal of Geometry, 2018In the article under review, the authors prove two theorems in Hilbert's absolute geometry (which includes Euclidean, elliptic and hyperbolic geometry): (i) of all triangles inscribed in a circle, the equilateral one has the greatest area (Theorem 2 in the article); (ii) of all triangles inscribed in a circle, the equilateral one has the greatest ...

On Characterization of Absolute Geometries
Results in Mathematics, 2011In the paper under review, the authors consider an absolute plane \textbf{A} = (\textbf{P}, \textbf{L}, \(\alpha\), \(\equiv\)) in the sense of \textit{H. Karzel} et al. [Einführung in die Geometrie. Göttingen: Vandenhoeck \& Ruprecht (1973; Zbl 0248.50001)], where \textbf{P} denotes the set of points in the plane, \textbf{L} denotes the set of lines ...

In this chapter we will review the basic properties of Absolute Plane geometry, based on the Birkhoff axioms. All the theorems to be considered are also theorems of Euclidean geometry and hence, for the most part, will be familiar to the reader.

Ebene absolute geometrie über Euklidischen Körpern
Journal of Geometry, 1980We give a set of seven postulates for plane absolute geometry based on the geometric notions points and lines and show that every absolute plane is — up to isomorphisms — either a Euclidean or a hyperbolic plane over a Euclidean field.

Metrische (absolute) Geometrie

Islamic star patterns in absolute geometry
ACM Transactions on Graphics, 2004We present Najm , a set of tools built on the axioms of absolute geometry for exploring the design space of Islamic star patterns. Our approach makes use of a novel family of tilings, called "inflation tilings," which are particularly well suited as guides for creating star patterns.
