Variation of physiological traits and yield components of some maize hybrid (Zea mays L.) in agroecological conditions of Kosovo

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2010
The aim of this study was to investigate some physiological traits and yield of different maize hybrids in growth conditions of Kosovo. The field experiment was conducted in 2006 and 2007 in Kosovo, near Prishtina.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Genome-wide association analysis to identify candidate genes for growth rate traits in Chinese endemic geese

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background China has abundant resources of local goose breeds with significant differences in growth rates among breeds. These differences provide natural genetic materials for exploring key functional genes and molecular markers of growth traits.

Coeficiente de cultura do meloeiro irrigado com água salina estimado por modelo matemático Crop coefficient of muskmelon irrigated with saline water estimated by mathematical model

Absolute Rate Theory for Spherulite Growth of Polymers.

open access: yesNippon kagaku zassi, 1959

Variation among Iranian alfalfa genotypes for absolute growth rates and salt stress tolerance indices

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2017
In many parts of the world, one of the most important restricting factors in cropproduction is salinity stress. Screening and selecting tolerant genotypes based on morphological characteristics is one of the primary actions toward achieving salt tolerant varieties.

Limited Correlation between Expansin Gene Expression and Elongation Growth Rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The aim of this work was to study the role of the cell wall protein expansin in elongation growth. Expansins increase cell wall extensibility in vitro and are thought to be involved in cell elongation.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This
