More on Equienergetic Threshold Graphs [PDF]
The energy of a graph is defined as the sum the absolute values of the eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix. A threshold graph G on n vertices is coded by a binary sequence of length n. In this paper we answer a question posed by Jacobs et al. [Eigenvalues and energy in threshold graphs, Linear Algebra Appl.

Absolute quantification of real-time PCR data with stage signal difference analysis [PDF]
Real-time PCR, or Real-time Quantitative PCR (qPCR) is an effective approach to quantify nucleic acid samples. Given the complicated reaction system along with thermal cycles, there has been long-term confusion on accurately calculating the initial nucleic acid amounts from the fluorescence signals.

In this study, two categories of weather index—absolute index and relative index—for chilling injury and heat damage of three main crops in China were assessed to identify insurable counties. First, correlations between selected weather indices and yield

Minimization of Transformed $L_1$ Penalty: Closed Form Representation and Iterative Thresholding Algorithms [PDF]
The transformed $l_1$ penalty (TL1) functions are a one parameter family of bilinear transformations composed with the absolute value function. When acting on vectors, the TL1 penalty interpolates $l_0$ and $l_1$ similar to $l_p$ norm ($p \in (0,1)$).

Probing the structure of $X(3872)$ in photoproduction [PDF]
We study the production of $X(3872)$ mesons in photon-induced nuclear reactions near the threshold within the collision model based on the nuclear spectral function. The model accounts for direct photon-nucleon $X(3872)$ production processes as well as five different scenarios for their internal structure.

A temporal network version of Watts's cascade model [PDF]
Threshold models of cascades in the social sciences and economics explain the spread of opinion and innovation due to social influence. In threshold cascade models, fads or innovations spread between agents as determined by their interactions with other agents and their personal threshold of resistance.

Water pipes have exceeded their service life, and the number of leakage and burst accidents is increasing. These accidents cause economic losses due to the interruption of operations and supply. However, replacing all the deteriorated pipes is difficult,

Hedging Errors Induced by Discrete Trading Under an Adaptive Trading Strategy [PDF]
Discrete time hedging in a complete diffusion market is considered. The hedge portfolio is rebalanced when the absolute difference between delta of the hedge portfolio and the derivative contract reaches a threshold level. The rate of convergence of the expected squared hedging error as the threshold level approaches zero is analyzed. The results hinge
