Absorption Spectroscopy

2011
Absorption spectroscopy is one of the most widely used techniques employed for determining the concentrations of absorbing species (chromophores) in solutions. It is a nondestructive technique which biologists and biochemists and now systems biologists use to quantify the cellular components and characteristic parameters of functional molecules.

Atomic absorption spectroscopy

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1968
AbstractAtomic absorption spectrophotometry has been used for the rapid determination of various metallic and nonmetallic elements in crude and refined vegetable oils and in animal fats, many present in levels of parts per million. Various types of crude and refined vegetable oils were analyzed for Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, P and Zn.
