Thermometric absorption spectroscopy through active locking of microbubble resonators
We implemented a Microbubble Resonator (MBRs) as an opto-thermal transducer to reconstruct the absorption spectrum of a nanoparticle suspension through its temperature increase.

Enhancing sensitivity in absorption spectroscopy using a scattering cavity [PDF]
Absorption spectroscopy is widely used to detect samples with spectral specificity. Here, we propose and demonstrate a method for enhancing the sensitivity of absorption spectroscopy. Exploiting multiple light scattering generated by a boron nitride (h-BN) scattering cavity, the optical path lengths of light inside a diffusive reflective cavity are ...

Germanium-based integrated photonics from near- to mid-infrared applications
Germanium (Ge) has played a key role in silicon photonics as an enabling material for datacom applications. Indeed, the unique properties of Ge have been leveraged to develop high performance integrated photodectors, which are now mature devices.

Application of Excimer Lamp in Quantitative Detection of SF6 Decomposition Component SO2
Accurate quantitative detection for trace gas has long been the center of failure diagnosis for gas-insulated equipment. An absorption spectroscopy-based detection system was developed for trace SF6 decomposition SO2 detection in this paper.

Optical frequency comb Fourier transform cavity ring-down spectroscopy [PDF]
We demonstrate broadband and sensitive cavity ring-down spectroscopy using a near infrared frequency comb and a time-resolved Fourier transform spectrometer. The cavity decays are measured simultaneously and spectrally sorted, leading to purely exponential decays for each spectral element.

MHz Unidirectional Rotation of Molecular Rotary Motors [PDF]
A combination of cryogenic UV-vis and CD spectroscopy and transient absorption spectroscopy at ambient temperature is used to study a new class of unidirectional rotary molecular motors.

It is important to avoid the overestimation of absorption due to scattering when using absorption spectroscopy to measure scattering samples. We approached this issue by placing the sample inside an integrating sphere (IS) to collect the scattered light ...
