Concentration modulated absorption spectroscopy

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1985
Concentration modulation is demonstrated to be a technique capable of markedly extending sensitivity limits in absorption spectroscopy. The gain generated relates in such a manner to sample transmittance that for the first reported time direct spectroscopic concentration measurements become possible.

Absorption spectroscopy of toluene pyrolysis

Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2002
Toluene pyrolysis in high temperature/high pressure argon atmosphere has been studied in a conventional diaphragm-type shock tube. The investigated ranges of temperature and pressure were 1500-2300 K and 8-13 bar, respectively. Extinction measurements in the near infrared have been carried out to follow the formation of carbonaceous particulate (soot).

Attosecond Absorption Spectroscopy in Molecules

CLEO: 2013, 2013
We present results on attosecond transient absorption in small molecules. Ultrafast relaxation dynamics in nitrogen can be temporally resolved by combining an isolated attosecond pulse and an intense synchronized carrier-envelope-phase stable infrared pulse. The lifetime of the different Fano resonances can be retrieved. © 2013 The Optical Society.

Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy

2006
The applications of infrared (IR) absorption spectroscopy are one of the most fun-damental and useful spectroscopic techniques available in the arsenal of apharmaceutical scientist. Typically, when most investigator scientists think ofvibrational spectroscopy, studies in the IR region of the spectrum come tomind, owing to the commercial availability of

Spectrorefractometry and Absorption Spectroscopy

Applied Spectroscopy, 1981
The dispersion relationships between absorption bands and refractive index dispersion allow measurement of spectra in either domain. Absorption spectroscopy techniques have, in general, been far more advanced. However, recent techniques such as asymmetric Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the possibility of combining tunable lasers with ...

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

Analytical Chemistry, 1960
To monitor the internal state of the cuvette in an atomic absorption spectrometer, a video camera (16) is arranged to be capable of viewing the inside of a cuvette 10 within its sample furnace 2. Retractable mirrors M4 and M8, which are insertable simultaneously in the measurement path 7 to direct the radiation around the cuvette and along a reference ...

Absorption Spectroscopy

2015
This chapter mainly describes in Section 6.1 how absorption spectroscopy is put into practise in general, and in Section 6.2 how absorption measurements are realised at high pressure. The fundamentals of absorption in the infrared (IR), the near infrared (NIR) and the ultraviolet and visible (UV/VIS) spectral range are provided in Section 2.4.1 of this
