Long-Term Stable Online Acetylene Detection by a CEAS System with Suppression of Cavity Length Drift

open access: yesSensors, 2019
A trace acetylene (C2H2) detection system was demonstrated using the cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy (CEAS) technique and a near-infrared distributed feedback (NIR-DFB) laser.

Hard x-ray photon-in-photon-out spectroscopy with lifetime resolution – of XAS, XES, RIXSS and HERFD

open access: yes, 2007
Spectroscopic techniques that aim to resolve the electronic configuration and local coordination of a central atom by detecting inner-shell radiative decays following photoexcitation using hard X-rays are presented.

Repetitively Mode-Locked Cavity-Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy (RML-CEAS) for Near-Infrared Gas Sensing

open access: yesSensors, 2017
A Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH)-based mode-locked cavity-enhanced sensor system was developed using a distributed feedback diode laser centered at 1.53 µm as the laser source.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy of Excited States in Polyfluorene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We used a variety of nonlinear optical (NLO) spectroscopies to study the singlet excited states order, and primary photoexcitations in polyfluorene; an important blue emitting p-conjugated polymer. The polarized NLO spectroscopies include ultrafast pump-probe photomodulation, two-photon absorption, and electroabsorption.

Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

Saturated-absorption spectroscopy: Eliminating crossover resonances using co-propagating beams [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, vol. 28 (20), pp. 1912-1914 (2003), 2003
We demonstrate a new technique for saturated-absorption spectroscopy using co-propagating beams that does not have the problem of crossover resonances. The pump beam is locked to a transition and its absorption signal is monitored while the probe beam is scanned.

Integrated Optic Sensing Spectrometer: Concept and Design

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this paper the concept and design of an integrated optical device featuring evanescent field sensing and spectrometric analysis is presented. The device, termed integrated optics sensing spectrometer (IOSS), consists of a modified arrayed waveguide ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Probing polaron excitation spectra in organic semiconductors by photoinduced-absorption-detected two-dimensional coherent spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report a theoretical description and experimental implementation of a novel two-dimensional coherent excitation spectroscopy based on quasi-steady-state photoinduced absorption measurement of a long-lived nonlinear population. We have studied a semiconductor-polymer:fullerene-derivative distributed heterostructure by measuring the 2D excitation ...
