Absorptive Capacity and Achieving the MDGs [PDF]
The recent discussion about the need to scale-up official development assistance (ODA) in order to make significant progress towards the MDGs has highlighted the concept of ‘absorptive capacity’. On one side are advocates of a general scaling up who rely on calculations of the amount of additional annual aid per capita needed in the next ten years to ...

Bibliometric analysis of absorptive capacity
Abstract This study contributes to our understanding of absorptive capacity (AC) by reviewing AC articles systematically using two types of blibliometric co-citation analysis – bibliometric co-citation and bibliometric cartography – for the last 25 years.

The impacts of the antecedents on absorptive capacity and export performance: a meta-analytic review
Although exporting performance and absorptive capacity, with its relevant antecedents have been studied extensively, rare of them have integrated these variables into a more comprehensive framework. Not only this study aims to synthesize extant knowledge

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
