Existence of solutions to a second order partial differential equation with nonlocal conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
Using the cosine function theory, we prove the existence of mild and classical solutions for an abstract second-order Cauchy problem with nonlocal conditions.

On the Bohr transform of almost-periodic solutions for some differential equations in abstract spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
We consider abstract differential equations of the form u′(t)=Au(t)+f(t) or u″(t)=Au(t)+f(t) in Banach spaces X, where f(⋅), ℝ→X is almost-periodic, while A is a linear operator, 𝒟(A)⊂X→X.

Infinitesimal symmetry transformations of matrix-valued differential equations: An algebraic approach

open access: yes, 2018
The study of symmetries of partial differential equations (PDEs) has been traditionally treated as a geometrical problem. Although geometrical methods have been proven effective with regard to finding infinitesimal symmetry transformations, they present ...

Abstract methods in differential equations

open access: yes, 2003
The author surveys his research of the last twenty years on a functional analytic approach to quasilinear parabolic systems. The main topics are: local well-posedness and global existence, linearization and stability criteria, coercivity conditions for parabolic systems, interpolation-extrapolation scales and quasilinear problems.

Tracking Motor Progression and Device‐Aided Therapy Eligibility in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterise the progression of motor symptoms and identify eligibility for device‐aided therapies in Parkinson's disease, using both the 5‐2‐1 criteria and a refined clinical definition, while examining differences across genetic subgroups.

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.

On generalized Wazewski and Lozinskii inequalities for semilinear abstract differential-delay equations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 1998
A semilinear abstract differential-delay equation with a nonautonomous linear part is considered. Solution estimates are derived. They generalize Wazewski and Lozinskii inequalities. Conditions for global stability are established.

Well-posedness of semilinear stochastic wave equations with H\"{o}lder continuous coefficients

open access: yes, 2016
We prove that semilinear stochastic abstract wave equations, including wave and plate equations, are well-posed in the strong sense with an $\alpha$-H\"{o}lder continuous drift coefficient, if $\alpha \in (2/3,1)$.

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...

Accelerated Progression of Gait Impairment in Parkinson's Disease and REM Sleep Without Atonia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective People with Parkinson's disease (PD) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep without atonia (RSWA) often have more severe gait disturbances compared to PD without RSWA. The association between the presence and expression of RSWA and the rate of progression of gait impairment in PD is unknown.
