Modelling non‐linear psychological processes: Reviewing and evaluating non‐parametric approaches and their applicability to intensive longitudinal data

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Psychological concepts are increasingly understood as complex dynamic systems that change over time. To study these complex systems, researchers are increasingly gathering intensive longitudinal data (ILD), revealing non‐linear phenomena such as asymptotic growth, mean‐level switching, and regulatory oscillations.

Intergenerational Dental Fear and Anxiety: Children's Pattern of Dental Service Use

open access: yesCommunity Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Dental care‐related fear and anxiety, involving emotional reactions to dental situations, can negatively impact children's quality of life, oral and systemic health. Recognising maternal characteristics as key determinants of child health, this study examined the intergenerational relationship between dental fear/anxiety and early ...

Computing Skinning Weights via Convex Duality

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We present an alternate optimization method to compute bounded biharmonic skinning weights. Our method relies on a dual formulation, which can be optimized with a nonnegative linear least squares setup. Abstract We study the problem of optimising for skinning weights through the lens of convex duality.

Peri‐Implant Crevicular Fluid Analysis by Mid‐Infrared Spectroscopy in Peri‐Implantitis—A Pilot Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to assess biochemical differences in peri‐implant crevicular fluid (PICF) using ATR‐FTIR spectroscopy and multivariate analysis, through a between‐participant comparison of healthy and peri‐implantitis (PI) sites, and a within‐participant comparison of PI‐PICF and GCF from contralateral periodontal healthy teeth ...

Representation of obligate groundwater‐dwelling copepod diversity in European protected areas

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Groundwaters sustain diverse surface ecosystems and are populated by metazoan species, mostly invertebrates, that provide fundamental ecological functions and are often of prominent conservation value due to narrow endemism and high phylogenetic rarity.
