In-Memory Indexed Caching for Distributed Data Processing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Powerful abstractions such as dataframes are only as efficient as their underlying runtime system. The de-facto distributed data processing framework, Apache Spark, is poorly suited for the modern cloud-based data-science workloads due to its outdated assumptions: static datasets analyzed using coarse-grained transformations.

An index for quantum cellular automata on fusion spin chains [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Interpreting the GNVW index for 1D quantum cellular automata (QCA) in terms of the Jones index for subfactors leads to a generalization of the index defined for QCA on more general abstract spin chains. These include fusion spin chains, which arise as the local operators invariant under a global (categorical/MPO) symmetry, and as the boundary operators

A pseudo-resolvent approach to abstract differential-algebraic equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We study linear abstract differential-algebraic equations (ADAEs), and we introduce an index concept which is based on polynomial growth of a~pseudo-resolvent. Our approach to solvability analysis is based on degenerate semigroups. We apply our results to some examples such as distributed circuit elements, and a system obtained by heat-wave coupling.

An abstract critical point theorem with applications to elliptic problems with combined nonlinearities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We prove an abstract critical point theorem based on a cohomological index theory that produces pairs of nontrivial critical points with nontrivial higher critical groups. This theorem yields pairs of nontrivial solutions that are neither local minimizers nor of mountain pass type for problems with combined nonlinearities.

Migration Activities, Household Characteristic and Child Health in Indonesia

open access: yesIntegrated Journal of Business and Economics, 2022
This paper investigates the impact of household characteristics on child health outcomes in Indonesia using Indonesian family Life Survey. This paper using birth wage, infant mortality and Z score to represent child health. Using Random effect method and

On the Morse Index with Constraints I: An Abstract Formulation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In this sequence, we first prove an abstract Morse index theorem in a Hilbert space modeling a variational problem with constraints. Then, our abstract formulation is applied to study several optimization setups including closed CMC hypersurfaces, capillary surfaces in a ball, and critical points of type-II partitioning.

Exponential sums and motivic oscillation index of arbitrary ideals and their applications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In 2006, Budur, Musta\c{t}\v{a} and Saito introduced the notion of Bernstein-Sato polynomial of an arbitrary scheme of finite type over fields of characteristic zero. Because of the strong monodromy conjecture, it should have a corresponding picture on the arithmetic side of ideals in polynomial rings.

Criteria for Evaluating Journals in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and the Life Sciences

open access: yesInternational Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, 2012
The purpose of this paper was to identify existing criteria that may be considered in evaluating journals in the scholarship of teaching and learning in agriculture, natural resources, and the life sciences. This can assist faculty authors and evaluators
