Journal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.The IMPOSTERS study analysed 150 recurring ‘human’ Simpsons characters and found that periodontitis or tooth loss was associated with a 23‐fold higher hazard of all‐cause mortality. This was reported in the Simpsons universe, with the death of ‘Bleeding Gums’ Murphy, 3 years before the first such reports in our universe.
