Recent data have revealed that the tubulin superfamily of proteins is much larger than was thought previously. Six distinct families within the tubulin superfamily have been discovered and more might await discovery. alpha-, beta- and gamma-tubulins are ubiquitous in eukaryotes.

To start things going, the following topics were suggested:* 1. Reliability of abundances Stars vs H ii regions H ii classical diagnostics Effects of shocks and inhomogeneities on H ii-region diagnostics H n new diagnostics Can reliable H ii-region diagnostics be developed for high metallicity?

Publisher Summary This chapter covers the abundance estimation, the range of techniques by which the size of a population of marine mammals can be estimated. When it is difficult to estimate absolute abundance with an acceptably low bias, relative abundance indices are often used instead.

Isotopic ratios in comets provide keys for the understanding of the origin of cometary material, and the physical and chemical conditions in the early Solar Nebula. We review here measurements acquired on the D/H, 12C/13C, 16O/18O, 14N/15N, 32S/34S ratios in dust and gases, and discuss their cosmogonic implications.

This chapter examines one of the most prominent themes which recur in urban panegyric: the city’s ability to generate and apply commerce and resources. This was deemed a specifically urban phenomenon and, especially from the twelfth century onwards, received the most scathing critique.
