Anemias in ancient Egyptian child mummies: Computed tomography investigations in European museums
Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of anemias in ancient Egyptian child mummies. Whole‐body computed tomography (CT) examinations of 21 ancient Egyptian child mummies from European museums were evaluated for estimation of sex and age at death.

Abstract Aim Domestic animals first appeared in the archaeological record in northern Africa c. 9000 years before present and subsequently spread southwards throughout the continent. This geographic expansion is well studied and can broadly be explained in terms of the movement of pastoralist populations due to climate change.

The Receipt for Wheat from Abusir
In Tyche 15 (2000) 111-117 (with Taf. 5), Rosario Pintaudi and Wolf Oerter publish a papyrus found in late antique occupation levels of the Fifth Dynasty funerary temple of Queen Khentkawes at Abusir. It contains a Greek receipt for wheat on one side and a Coptic letter addressed to one Apa Paulos, presumably a monk, on the other.
