Gelatin–Organic Acid‐Based Biodegradable Batteries for Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
In this study, two organic acids are incorporated into gelatin electrolytes for magnesium–molybdenum batteries. In the results, it is demonstrated that both organic acids increase gelatin conductivity and improve electrochemical reactions in battery, leading to higher plateau voltage and greater battery capacity.

Printable Carbon‐Based Thermogalvanic Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The performance of printable active carbon as the electrodes of thermogalvanic cells is investigated. The maximum output power can be doubled by multilayer printing of the electrode, which reduces the internal resistance of the cell. Thermogalvanic cells (TGCs) can convert low‐grade heat directly into electricity through reversible redox reactions ...

Nanoarchitectonics of N‐ and S‐Doped Nanoporous Biocarbons with High Specific Surface Area from Casein and Dithiooxamide for Supercapacitor Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
N, S codoped nanoporous biocarbons are synthesized using casein and dithiooxamide via a low‐cost chemical activation approach. Reasonable high surface areas and concentrations of codopants were observed. This leads to a good capacitance of 178 F g−1 along with good cycling stability of 93.2% retention after 300 cycles, which demonstrates the ...
