180nm HVIC technology for digital AC/DC power conversion
2017 29th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and IC's (ISPSD), 2017A new high-voltage integrated circuit (HVIC) technology has been developed and optimized for AC/DC power conversion applications that require increased digital content. This cost-effective process uses 3.3V CMOS and a 180nm backend process to provide about 10X greater digital circuit density compared to conventional 0.5um 5V CMOS solutions.

High-voltage IC technologies for AC/DC power conversion
2015 IEEE International Conference on Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuits (EDSSC), 2015The market for AC/DC power converters is growing rapidly, driven largely by the proliferation of portable electronic devices and adoption of LED lighting. This paper provides an overview of one of the most common circuit topologies used for AC/DC conversion and describes the IC technology requirements for these systems.

A Direct Power Conversion Topology for Grid Integration of Hybrid AC/DC Energy Resources
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2013This paper proposes a multiple-input versatile matrix converter (VMC) for integrating hybrid ac/dc energy resources and storages to the power grid. The VMC is developed from the traditional indirect matrix converter but operates in the reverse-boost mode rather than in the forward-buck mode.

A novel AC-DC Converter un-requiring inductors for power conversion
2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008A new ac-dc converter is proposed and its experimental results are also presented. This AC- DC converter does not require any inductor and any high voltage capacitor in input rectification. It also shows very low stand-by power consumption compared to conventional switching mode power supply (SMPS) ac-dc converters while it reveals a drawback in ...

Thermal wattmeter with direct AC/DC power conversion
Proceedings of Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements Digest, 2002A thermal wattmeter with direct AC power to DC voltage conversion is described. A three-terminal thermoconverter (TTTC) is used for AC/DC power substitution. The TTTC enables simultaneous application of mutually independent current and voltage into the same heater and this way to force phantom power dissipation in this heater.

Simplified Analysis and Design of an AC/DC Power Conversion System for Traction Drives
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1981An ac/dc power conversion system suitable for traction drives supplied by an ac feeder line is considered. In order to work out a simple procedure for the preliminary design of the conversion system, some simplifying hypotheses are made. These hypotheses allow a simple analysis of the overall steady-state behavior of the power conversion system.

A direct power conversion topology for grid integrations of hybrid AC/DC resources
Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012This paper proposes a multiple-input versatile matrix converter (VMC) to integrate hybrid ac/dc energy resources and storages to a power grid. The VMC is developed based on the indirect matrix converter (IMC) with its six-switch voltage source converter replaced by a nine-switch topology.
