NUMERICAL STUDY AND REMEDIATION OF AC INTERFERENCE CORROSION ON NEIGHBOURING PIPELINES [PDF]
Buried pipelines for gas and oil are protected by an insulation coating and a Cathodic Protection (CP). However, neighbouring high voltage HV power lines induce an alternating current AC which causes corrosion damages on metallic structures, even in CP ...

A nonlinear model for AC induced corrosion
The modeling of corrosion poses particular difficulties. The understanding of corrosion as an electrochemical process has led to simple capacitive-resistive models that take into account the resistance of the electrolytic cell and the capacitive effect of the surface potential at the interface between conductors and the electrolyte.

Galvanic coupling between copper and aluminium in a thin-layer cell [PDF]
The Al/Cu coupling was investigated in a thin-layer cell formed by a large Cu electrode and an Al microelectrode embedded in an insulator placed above the Cu electrode. By using a scanning electrochemical microscope (SECM) the thickness of the thin layer

The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...

Inhibition of corrosion of L 80 alloy pipeline carrying simulated oil well water by succinic acid
Simulated oil well water (SOWW) is conceded out by pipelines made of several alloys, for instance mild steel L80. These alloys may simulated oil well water undergo corrosion owing to presence of various aggressive ions present in SOWW.

Corrosion Resistance of Steel/Zinc with Silicate Nanoparticles/Polyurethane Paint Systems in NaCl Solution [PDF]
Surface characteristics and corrosion behaviour of bare electrogalvanized steel coated with polymer/nano-silicate particles added to the electrogalvanizing bath were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDXS) and

EDX elemental map of the pre‐oxidized MgO–steel cermet anode cross section after electrolysis. The development of inert anodes for aluminum electrolysis remains challenging due to the high corrosivity of cryolite‐based melts at 950°C–1000°C. This study investigates the corrosion and process behavior of a carbon‐free MgO–steel cermet anode derived from ...
