Improved rotor position estimation in extended back-EMF based sensorless PM brushless AC drives with magnetic saliency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An improved extended back-EMF based sensorless control method is proposed for a brushless AC motor equipped with an interior permanent magnet rotor. It accounts for dq-axis cross-coupling magnetic saturation by introducing an apparent mutual winding ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

A review on model predictive control strategies for AC motor drives

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
In the past decade, model predictive control (MPC) has been widely used in AC motor drives. Although a series of improved MPC strategies have been proposed, researchers are still seeking more effective solutions for different application backgrounds and ...

Vortex Pinball Under Crossed AC Drives in Superconductors with Periodic Pinning Arrays

open access: yes, 2001
Vortices driven with both a transverse and a longitudinal AC drive which are out of phase are shown to exhibit a novel commensuration-incommensuration effect when interacting with periodic substrates.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Interplay of disorder and geometrical frustration in doped Gadolinium Gallium Garnet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The geometrically-frustrated, triangular antiferromagnet GGG exhibits a rich mix of short-range order and isolated quantum states. We investigate the effects of up to 1% Neodymium substitution for Gallium on the ac magnetic response at temperatures below

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Optimal Compensation of Voltage Drop Across Long Power Cable in Motor Drive Systems: A Vector Controlled Approach

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
This paper proposes an optimal voltage compensation method for the drop across long power cable in a motor drive system. In the proposed method the drive is utilised to compensate the voltage drop and no additional voltage regulation device is required ...
