Simulation Analysis of Electromagnetic Interference Effects of AC Traction Metro Tunnels on Oil and Gas Pipelines

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] Currently, several cities in China are planning 25 kV AC (alternating current) power supply metro lines, inevitably there will be paralled sections of oillgas pipelines run parallel to metro tunnels.

Application of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate/Activated Carbon onto the Preconcentration of Cadmium Ions in Solid-Phase Extraction Flow System

open access: yesChemEngineering, 2019
In the present study, activated carbon (AC) surface modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), written as SDS/AC, was applied as an adsorbent for preconcentration and determination of trace amount of cadmium ions in environmental sample waters.

From tunneling to photoemission: correlating two spaces

open access: yes, 2009
Correlating the data measured by tunneling and photoemission spectroscopies is a long-standing problem in condensed matter physics. The quasiparticle interference, recently discovered in high-Tc cuprates, reveals a possibility to solve this problem ...

High Healthcare Utilization Preceding Diagnosis with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Though early diagnosis improves long‐term outcomes, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) patients often experience prolonged, circuitous paths to diagnosis. To inform diagnostic improvement, we sought to characterize healthcare utilization in the year preceding diagnosis.

Modeling of the KOH-Polarization cells for mitigating the induced AC voltage in the metallic pipelines

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
The problem of AC corrosion remains motivating for researchers because many factors influence the corrosion rate for buried pipelines due to the interference with overhead high voltage transmission lines (OHVTLs). Many researchers study the mechanisms of

Observation of large $h/2e$ and $h/4e$ oscillations in a proximity dc superconducting quantum interference device

open access: yes, 2008
We have measured the magnetoresistance of a dc superconducting quantum interference device in the form of an interrupted mesoscopic normal-metal loop in contact with two superconducting electrodes.

Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to JIA disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship between cumulative social disadvantage, neighborhood disadvantage, and JIA ...

Effects of causal beliefs about gout on public views about gout management: A randomized experimental study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Despite well‐described biological causes, the public views unhealthy lifestyle choices as the primary cause of gout. This study investigated how causal beliefs about gout influence the public's views about its management. Methods In a randomized study, 201 members of the public viewed one of two 2‐minute videos about gout.

Landau-Zener interference at bichromatic driving

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate experimentally and theoretically the interference at avoided crossings which are repeatedly traversed as a consequence of an applied ac field. Our model system is a charge qubit in a serial double quantum dot connected to two leads.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
