Method for AC Powerline Impedance Measurement

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2007
Methods exist today to estimate the AC powerline impedance by taking into account the various components in the distribution system. These calculations are fraught with error due to inaccurate electrical documentation and a lack of information about the physical construction of the system.

Increasing of AC compensation method accuracy

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2003
The original MMF compensation method allows the magnetic properties of single sheets and strips to be measured in the same way as the closed specimen properties. The accuracy of the method is limited due to the finite gain of the feedback loop fulfilling the condition of its stability.

Simulation method for phase-shift controlled AC-AC converters based on switching vector

Proceedings of Power Conversion Conference - PCC '97, 2002
An efficient method to simulate voltage and current waveforms of phase shift controlled AC-AC converters is presented. The method is based on switching vector, which is space-vector of switching functions, and on the complex Fourier-series of it. The only constraints of our method are that the output frequency and modulation method of the converter are

Differential ac method of thermopower measurement

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1986
A new differential ac technique is described for rapid and continuous measurement of thermoelectric power of thin metallic ribbons over a wide temperature range. Sinusoidal heating of one thermocouple junction by means of a small resistive heater results in a measuring principle which eliminates spurious thermoelectric voltages in the lead wires and ...

A novel ACS-based optimum switch relocation method

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2002
In this paper, a cooperative agent algorithm, the ant colony system (ACS), for optimum switch relocation is proposed. Switch relocation is a useful tool for distribution automation, since it can reduce the interruption costs without additional capital investments.

Electrochemically characterizing the ac–dc–ac accelerated test method using embedded electrodes

Corrosion Science, 2009
Abstract Embedded sensors were used as an in situ corrosion-sensing device for aircraft and vehicular structures protected by organic coatings. Results are presented where changes associated with standard air force aircraft and army vehicle coatings were monitored by embedded sensors.

Lifetime prediction of waterborne acrylic paints with the AC–DC–AC method

Progress in Organic Coatings, 2004
Abstract In this study an accelerated method for the evaluation of painted metals is proposed. Specifically, the proposed method has been applied in a study of the process of degradation of two water-based paints applied to a carbon steel surface. The technique is based on the application of cycles combining measurement of electrochemical impedance ...

Evaluating the junction temperature of AC LEDs by DC and AC methods

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Alternating-current (AC) driven light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have become the trend of solid-state lighting (SSL) products. The junction temperature is an important index of LEDs reliability and efficiency. In other words, with proper thermal management of AC LEDs lighting products, the high performance of SSL products will be achieved.

Sub-envelope modulation method to reduce total harmonic distortion of AC/AC matrix converters

IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2006
An AC/AC matrix converter is an array of power semiconductor switches that connects directly a three-phase AC source to another three-phase load. It can convert an AC power source with certain voltage and frequency to another AC load with variable voltage and variable frequency directly without a DC-link and bulk energy storage component.
