Short Rotation Forestry Expansion Drives Carbon Sequestration in Biomass but Not in Soil
GCB Bioenergy, Volume 17, Issue 7, July 2025.Farmers in northwest Ethiopia changed croplands to short rotation forestry (SRF) using black wattle (Acacia mearnsii) to meet the growing charcoal and firewood demand. We studied how this impacts the carbon budget using soil and biomass data with satellite imagery.
