Symblicit algorithms for optimal strategy synthesis in monotonic Markov decision processes

open access: yes, 2014
When treating Markov decision processes (MDPs) with large state spaces, using explicit representations quickly becomes unfeasible. Lately, Wimmer et al. have proposed a so-called symblicit algorithm for the synthesis of optimal strategies in MDPs, in the

Suitability of Hybrid Acacia Wood for Manufacturing Plywood and Particleboard

open access: yesJournal of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, 2012
Hybrid acacia, produced from natural crossing between two introduced timber species Acacia mangium and A. auriculiformies has been studied for assessing the suitability of plywood and particleboard manufacture. It was found that 1.5 mm thick smooth and figured veneer can be made and dried easily. Three-ply plywood were made using veneer of this species

EFFECT OF HEAT TREATMENT ON THE CHANGE IN COLOR

open access: yesBioResources, 2010
Acacia hybrid (Acacia mangium x auriculiformis), a wood species of low dimensional stability which is used almost exclusively for pulp, paper, or as firewood, was heat treated in nitrogen at 210-230 ºC for 2 to 6 hours.

Characterising Ecosystem Composition, Structure and Function of Alternative Stable States in Temperate Forests of South‐Eastern Australia

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
Alternative stable states established following repeated short‐interval fires in resprouting Eucalyptus temperate forests were associated with declines across multiple ecosystem functions. For example, carbon storage potential was significantly reduced (b: p < 0.001), with alternative states storing substantially less carbon than reference forests ...
