Effects of acaricides on the activities of monooxygenases in bovine liver microsomes
Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2023AbstractOrganophosphates (OPs), pyrethrins and fipronil, are acaricides commonly used in cattle, mainly as pour on formulations. Scant information is available on their potential interactions with hepatic xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. This work aimed to evaluate in vitro the potential inhibitory effects of widely employed acaricides on catalytic ...

Screening of medicinal plants of rwanda for acaricidal activity
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 1985A series of 108 samples from 42 medicinal plants of Rwanda have been screened for acaricidal activity against the female tick Rhipicephalus appendiculatus. Two plants, Solanum dasyphyllum (fruits) and Neorautanenia mitis (roots) showed apparent acaricidal activity in the petroleum ether fraction.

The Anti‐bacterial Activity of Acaricides in Relation to Streptothricosis
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 1989SummaryThe anti‐bacterial activity of 13 commercially available acaricides, in use in the Caribbean, was tested against Dermatophilus congolensis, an actinomycete involved in streptothricosis of cattle, sheep and goats in the tropics. Acaricides used included organochloride, organophosphorus, carbamate, pyrethroid and amidine compounds.

In vitro and in vivo acaricidal activity of a herbal extract
Veterinary Parasitology, 2012The anti-tick efficacy of combined aqueous herbal extracts of Azadirachta indica leaves, Nicotiana tabacum leaves, Calotropis procera flowers and Trachyspermum ammi seeds was evaluated using adult immersion test, larval packet test and ear bag method.

The acaricidal activity and mechanism of eugenol on Psoroptes cuniculi
Veterinary Parasitology, 2019In this study, the acaricidal effect of eugenol was measured and its mechanism of action investigated. The results showed that eugenol possessed the effect of killing Psoroptes cuniculi, and could regulate the mRNA expression of glutathione S-transferase (GST), catechinic acid (Ca) and thioredoxin (Trx).

Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 1992
SummaryThe acaricidal and fungicidal activities of a new acaricide Allerbiocid, formulated for the control of house dust mites, were investigated. The components of the Allerbiocid formula are: 3% benzyl benzoate (acaricidal and fungicidal), 1% tannic acid (protein denaturant) and 0.5% Tween (surface active agent) in 70% isopropyl alcohol (antiseptic).

Synthesis of novel quinolinomatrine derivatives and their insecticidal/acaricidal activities
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2018In continuation of our program to discover natural product-based pesticidal agents, a series of new quinolinomatrine derivatives were prepared. Especially three-dimensional structures of five compounds were unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Fentrifanil: A diarylamine acaricide with potent mitochondrial uncoupling activity
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1980Abstract The acaricide fentrifanil (2′-chloro-2,4-dinitro-5′,6-di(trifluoromethyl)diphenylamine) is a new and very potent type of uncoupler of respiratory chain phosphorylation. It stimulates oxygen consumption, reduces the respiratory control index, lowers the ADP O ratio and releases the oligomycin block of ADP-stimulated respiration in ...

Factors influencing the acaricidal activity of flucycloxuron
Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 1993AbstractContact activities of flucycloxuron on immature stages of the two‐spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae (Koch)) and the European red mite (Panonychus ulmi (Koch)) gradually decrease in the successive developmental stages. The levels of contact activity of flucycloxuron on larvae and protonymphs of T. urticae and P. ulmi are of the same order.

A series of novel pyrazolyl acrylonitrile derivatives was designed, targeting Tetranychus cinnabarinus, and synthesized. Their structures were identified by combination of 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and MS spectra. The structures of compounds 18 and 19 were further confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Extensive greenhouse bioassays indicated that compound 19 exhibits
