Análise da eficácia de acaricidas sobre o carrapato Boophilus microplus, durante a última década, na região sul do Rio Grande do Sul Acaricids efficacy analysis on Boophilus microplus tick, in the last decade in the southern of Rio Grande do Sul

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2008
A região sul do Rio Grande do Sul caracteriza-se por uma bovinocultura com predomínio de raças européias, tanto para produção de carne, quanto de leite.

A natural barrier: tick‐repellent potential of a spruce‐derived volatile blend against Hyalomma excavatum and Ixodes ricinus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1481-1491, February 2026.
Both active and passive questing ticks, Hyalomma excavatum and Ixodes ricinus, were assessed for behavioural responses to two novel plant‐derived repellent volatile organic compound blends. Both tick species were repelled by the products, and both novo blends were significantly more repellent than currently available commercial products.

SUSCEPTIBILITY OF RHIPICEPHALUS SANGUINEUS SENSULATO (S.L.) LATREILLE (ACARI: IXODIDAE) TO CYPERMETHRIN, IVERMECTIN, AND AMITRAZ [PDF]

open access: yesExploratory Animal and Medical Research
Chemical acaricides, viz. amitraz, cypermethrin, and ivermectin have been in use for control of ectoparasites (particularly ticks) in domestic animals over the past two decades.

Reinstatement of rhipicephalus (Boophilus) australis (Acari: Ixodidae) with redescription of the adult and larval stages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Rhipicephalus australis Fuller, the Australian cattle tick, is reinstated and the adults and larvae redescribed from material collected in Australia. This long ignored boophilid was previously known as R.

Acaricidal activity of small molecule antagonists of the tick kinin receptor against Rhipicephalus microplus acaricide‐susceptible and resistant strains

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1618-1628, February 2026.
Two small molecules, SACC‐0039590 and SACC‐0428788, killed cattle fever tick, R. microplus, susceptible Deutch strain and pyrethroid resistant Arauquita strain larvae. SACC‐0039590 at 1 mM decreased the reproductive parameters of Deutch females. Abstract BACKGROUND Resistance to acaricides underscores the need for tick control alternatives.

Comparative multi‐omics in female mice reveals tissue‐specific vulnerabilities to chronic alcohol intake

open access: yesAlcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, Volume 50, Issue 2, February 2026.
Using mice, we applied multi‐omics to compare liver and skeletal muscle after chronic alcohol consumption. The liver responded more strongly across genes, proteins, and metabolites, with a lowered PC:PE ratio. Muscle showed inflammation, extracellular matrix activation, impaired mitochondrial energetics, and an elevated PC:PE ratio. Lipidomics affected

Sublethal effects of acaricides and Nosema ceranae infection on immune related gene expression in honeybees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Nosema ceranae is an obligate intracellular parasite and the etiologic agent of Nosemosis that affects honeybees. Beside the stress caused by this pathogen, honeybee colonies are exposed to pesticides under beekeeper intervention, such as acaricides to ...

Agricultural System Resilience of Industrial Hemp: An Exploratory Value Web Analysis in the Swabian Alb

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study assessed the industrial hemp value web resilience in the Swabian Alb, Southern Germany, where regional implementation remains limited despite hemp's bioeconomy potential. Using an indicator framework and stakeholder interviews, the research found the small, fluctuating cultivation area (e.g., 25 ha in 2024) focuses on hemp seed valorisation;

Silicas for control of the poultry red mite Dermanyssus gallinae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Control of the poultry red mite Dermanyssus gallinae is a challenge for organic as well as conventional egg producers. In organic agriculture, control should be attempted by mechanically acting substances (e.g.
