Acceleration modules in linear induction accelerators [PDF]
Linear Induction Accelerator (LIA) is a unique type of accelerator, which is capable to accelerate kilo-Ampere beam current to tens of MeV. The LIA acceleration modules, filled with ferrite or ferromagnetic toroid cores, can be conveniently stacked to obtain high energy. During the evolution of LIA, several models for the LIA acceleration module and the

Accelerating decay with acceleration
We investigate accelerated Unruh-deWitt detectors as a model for particle decay. We find non-trivial decay rates, including a pattern of peaks in decay rate that extends to lower accelerations. Applying our model to the alpha decay of $\mathrm{^{210}Po}$, we find that effects could be observed with an acceleration of $a\approx 10^{26} \frac{\mathrm{m}}{

Piezoelectric Accelerator [PDF]
AbstractHere we propose the conception of small-size piezoelectric accelerator of charged particles that operates due to the piezoelectric effect at varying mechanical force applied to piezoelectrics in vacuum. The accelerating voltage and the energy of accelerated particles are estimated.

The Role of Cerebral Metabolism in Improving Time Pressured Decisions
Speed-accuracy tradeoff (SAT) theory dictates that decisions can be made more quickly by sacrificing accuracy. Here we investigate whether the human brain can operate in a brief metabolic overdrive to overcome SAT and successfully make decisions ...

MAXIMAL ACCELERATION OR MAXIMAL ACCELERATIONS? [PDF]
We review the arguments supporting the existence of a maximal acceleration for a massive particle and show that different values of this upper limit can be predicted in different physical situations.

Covariant Uniform Acceleration [PDF]
We show that standard Relativistic Dynamics Equation F=dp/d\tau is only partially covariant. To achieve full Lorentz covariance, we replace the four-force F by a rank 2 antisymmetric tensor acting on the four-velocity.

Accelerated Share Repurchases [PDF]
Accelerated share repurchases (ASRs) are credible commitments by firms to repurchase shares immediately. Including an ASR in a repurchase program reduces the flexibility that firms have to alter an announced program in response to subsequent changes in ...

Accelerated versus standard corneal cross linking in the treatment of ectasia post refractive surgery and penetrating keratoplasty: a medium term randomized trial [PDF]
AIM: To compare the clinical outcomes of the standard corneal cross linking (CXL) and the accelerated CXL in patients with progressive corneal ectasia post refractive surgery and penetrating keratoplasty.

Basic study of sheet attitude during accelerated delivery of the nip transport mechanism
This paper describes basic study of sheet attitude during accelerated delivery of the nip transport mechanism. The nip transport mechanism with a pair of rollers is widely used in many devices, such as automated teller machines (ATMs), printing machines,
