Acceleration modules in linear induction accelerators [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Physics C, 2014
Linear Induction Accelerator (LIA) is a unique type of accelerator, which is capable to accelerate kilo-Ampere beam current to tens of MeV. The LIA acceleration modules, filled with ferrite or ferromagnetic toroid cores, can be conveniently stacked to obtain high energy. During the evolution of LIA, several models for the LIA acceleration module and the

Accelerating decay with acceleration

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate accelerated Unruh-deWitt detectors as a model for particle decay. We find non-trivial decay rates, including a pattern of peaks in decay rate that extends to lower accelerations. Applying our model to the alpha decay of $\mathrm{^{210}Po}$, we find that effects could be observed with an acceleration of $a\approx 10^{26} \frac{\mathrm{m}}{

Piezoelectric Accelerator [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
AbstractHere we propose the conception of small-size piezoelectric accelerator of charged particles that operates due to the piezoelectric effect at varying mechanical force applied to piezoelectrics in vacuum. The accelerating voltage and the energy of accelerated particles are estimated.

Heat transfer effects on flow past an exponentially accelerated vertical plate with variable temperature [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2008
An exact solution to the problem of flow past an exponentially accelerated infinite vertical plate with variable temperature is analyzed. The temperature of the plate is raised linearly with time t.

MAXIMAL ACCELERATION OR MAXIMAL ACCELERATIONS? [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2003
We review the arguments supporting the existence of a maximal acceleration for a massive particle and show that different values of this upper limit can be predicted in different physical situations.

Accelerated Overlap Fermions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Numerical evaluation of the overlap Dirac operator is difficult since it contains the sign function $\epsilon(H_w)$ of the Hermitian Wilson-Dirac operator $H_w$ with a negative mass term. The problems are due to $H_w$ having very small eigenvalues on the

Accelerated motion and the self-force in Schwarzschild spacetime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We provide expansions of the Detweiler-Whiting singular field for motion along arbitrary, planar accelerated trajectories in Schwarzschild spacetime. We transcribe these results into mode-sum regularization parameters, computing previously unknown terms ...
