Deterministic Nucleation of Nanocrystal Superlattices on 2D Perovskites for Light‐Funneling Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates the heterogeneous nucleation of CsPbBr3${\rm CsPbBr}_3$ nanocrystal superlattices along the faces of 2D PEA2PbBr4${\rm PEA}_2{\rm PbBr}_4$ layered perovskite microcrystals. Core–crown and core–shell heterostructure morphologies are obtained.

Tropical forest carbon sequestration accelerated by nitrogen

open access: yesNature Communications
Abstract Understanding forest carbon sequestration is crucial for predicting and managing the carbon cycle, yet we lack evidence for whether, when and how the carbon sink in tropical forests recovering from land use change is nutrient limited.

Cu‐Pd Dual Single Atoms Promoting Selective CO2 Photoreduction to C2 Products in Seawater

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cu and Pd dual single atoms anchored on TiO2 cooperatively enhance C─C coupling during CO2 photoreduction in seawater. Under xenon‐light irradiation and without a sacrificial reagent/alkaline trapping agent, the catalyst achieves highly selective acetic acid formation.

A review on carbonation in cement composites and its impacts on durability and potential for CO₂ sequestration

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures
Carbonation is a key process affecting the durability, strength, and environmental impact of concrete. While it refines pore structure and enhances strength, it also lowers alkalinity, leading to reinforcement corrosion risks.

Closed‐Loop Solid‐State Synthesis Planning for Materials Discovery With Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Leveraging literature data, we build a large‐language‐model‐driven workflow that extracts synthesis steps from 4407 papers, retrieves similar precedents, and generates candidate solid‐state synthesis recipes. The system benchmarks against ground‐truth and then operates in a closed loop with experiments to synthesize oxy‐selenide electrolyte materials ...

Electrolyte Design for Fast‐Charging Lithium‐Based Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A decade of progress in fast‐charging electrolytes for lithium batteries is reviewed. Electrolyte design strategies spanning solvents, salts, additives, and advanced systems, such as localized high‐concentration electrolytes (LHCEs), are summarized. Advanced diagnostic tools for lithium plating and interphase chemistry are discussed, with perspectives ...
