Lamp reliability studies for improved satellite rubidium frequency standard [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
In response to the premature failure of Rb lamps used in Rb atomic clocks onboard NAVSTAR GPS satellites experimental and theoretical investigations into their failure mechanism were initiated.

The temporal trends and short‐ and long‐term mortality of people with acute myocardial infarction and rheumatoid arthritis: a nationwide cohort study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Aims We investigated whether a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects the quality of inpatient acute myocardial infarction (AMI) care and long‐term mortality post‐AMI. Methods We analysed data from 784,091 adults, 6,047 with a diagnosis of RA, from England and Wales hospitalised with AMI between 2005 and 2019 from the MINAP registry, linked ...

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Estimating Bus Travel Time Using Survival Models

open access: yesبرنامه‌ریزی و بودجه, 2019
The prevailing model in the studies that estimate bus travel time is the linear regression which assumes the limit of the normal distribution for all observations.

Reliable Method to Detect Alloy Soldering Fractures under Accelerated Life Test

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this research, we investigated the development and design of the Accelerated Life Test (ALT) and its approach to the waste of material. The development of a reliability model is based on the moment at which failure appears.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Reply to “Matters arising: cost-effectiveness of first-line immunotherapy combinations with or without chemotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer: a modelling approach”

open access: yesBMC Cancer
In this article, we read with great attention the correspondence by Bullement et al., regarding our published study on cost-effectiveness of first-line immunotherapy combinations with or without chemotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Estimating Covariances and Goodness of Fit Plots for Accelerated Failure Time Models

open access: yesAxioms
Let the response variable Y be the time until an event such as death. Assume that there are p predictors x1,…,xp and that the response variable is right censored.

Pre-Production and Quality Assurance of the Mu2e Calorimeter Silicon Photomultipliers

open access: yes, 2017
The Mu2e electromagnetic calorimeter has to provide precise information on energy, time and position for $\sim$100 MeV electrons. It is composed of 1348 un-doped CsI crystals, each coupled to two large area Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs). A modular and

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.
