Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Model Averaging for Accelerated Failure Time Models with Missing Censoring Indicators
Model averaging has become a crucial statistical methodology, especially in situations where numerous models vie to elucidate a phenomenon. Over the past two decades, there has been substantial advancement in the theory of model averaging. However, a gap

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

A Generalized Accelerated Failure Time Model to Predict Restoration Time from Power Outages
Major disasters such as wildfire, tornado, hurricane, tropical storm, and flooding cause disruptions in infrastructure systems such as power and water supply, wastewater management, telecommunication, and transportation facilities.

The obesity epidemic in children: Latino children are disproportionately affected at younger ages
Background and objectives: National surveillance clearly illustrates that U.S. chil-dren are becoming increasingly overweight. However, the timing of the onset of childhood overweight has not been well-described.

Nonparametric identification of accelerated failure time competing risks models [PDF]
We provide new conditions for identification of accelerated failure time competing risks models. These include Roy models and some auction models. In our setup, unknown regression functions and the joint survivor function of latent disturbance terms are all nonparametric.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an
