The seismic intensity attenuation relations in northeastern Tibetan Plateau region are established by a regression analysis on isoseismal data. Then the attenuation relations for horizontal peak ground acceleration and short-period response spectrum for western North America are derived based on the database of HUO Jun-rong and strong motion data from ...

Repetitive shock (RS) and electrodynamic (ED) vibration systems produce substantially different vibration conditions at the input point to the test article. These differences are most evident in terms of peak G level and spectrum content. The RS system produces vibration in short bursts which contain extremely high G amplitudes at the leading edge of ...

SUMMARY Seismic hazard modelling for regions of low and moderate seismicity is often hampered by the lack of indigenous strong motion data. Thus, empirical attenuation models developed for analogous d 29:1457}1489) with observations on local isolated earthquake events, to determine representative design response spectra for both force- and ...

RESPONSE SPECTRUM METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF PEAK VERTICAL FLOOR ACCELERATIONS
Although a wide variety of response spectrum methods have been developed to estimate peak horizontal floor accelerations, much less attention has been devoted to study the applicability of those methods for the vertical direction or to develop new methods to estimate this response.openaire +1 more source

We calculate the number of muons of energy greater than Eµ due to a primary nucleon of energy E0 for Eµ ≳ 10 GeV. The yields have been calculated (assuming normal parentage for the muons) by solving the atmospheric diffusion equation governing the pion flux in the atmosphere and determining the corresponding muon production spectrum and hence the muon ...

Earthquake Spectra
This research proposes simplified methods for response spectrum and modal dynamic analyses of gravity dams using time-history and spectral seismic accelerations modified to directly account for hydrodynamic effects. The developed methods waive the need for specialized fluid-structure interaction software.
