Acceleration Methods [PDF]

open access: yesFoundations and Trends® in Optimization, 2021
This monograph covers some recent advances in a range of acceleration techniques frequently used in convex optimization. We first use quadratic optimization problems to introduce two key families of methods, namely momentum and nested optimization schemes. They coincide in the quadratic case to form the Chebyshev method.

THE ROLE OF INNOVATION IN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

open access: yesНовые технологии, 2020
A changing world and global trends are both challenges that need to be answered and chances that can be taken by creating and introducing innovations. The results of the survey among the leaders of large companies have shown that more than 80 % of them ...

Accelerating decay with acceleration

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate accelerated Unruh-deWitt detectors as a model for particle decay. We find non-trivial decay rates, including a pattern of peaks in decay rate that extends to lower accelerations. Applying our model to the alpha decay of $\mathrm{^{210}Po}$, we find that effects could be observed with an acceleration of $a\approx 10^{26} \frac{\mathrm{m}}{

The accelerated acceleration of the universe

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2006
We present a simple mechanism which can mimic dark energy with an equation of state w < -1 as deduced from the supernova data. We imagine that the universe is accelerating under the control of a quintessence field, which is moving up a very gently sloping potential.

Production of energetic protons, deuterons, and neutrons up to 60 MeV via disruption of a current-carrying plasma column at 3 MA

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
Acceleration of ions to multi-MeV energies is investigated in various plasma devices to better understand processes in astrophysical plasmas and to develop efficient accelerators for a variety of applications. This paper reports the production of proton,

Optimization of Deuteron Irradiation of 176Yb for Producing 177Lu of High Specific Activity Exceeding 3000 GBq/mg

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The irradiation of 176Yb with deuterons offers a promising pathway for the production of the theranostic radionuclide 177Lu. To optimize this process, calculations integrating deuteron transport, isotope production, and decay have been performed. In pure

Acceleration of Material Waves in Fermi Accelerator [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2009
Cold Atoms bouncing on modulated atomic mirror exhibits acceleration and dynamical localization subject to modulated strength. We explain characteristics of acceleration and define control parameters in terms of effective Planck′s constant. We show that the effective Planck′s constant plays a vital role in limiting classical‐like overall linear growth

MAXIMAL ACCELERATION OR MAXIMAL ACCELERATIONS? [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2003
We review the arguments supporting the existence of a maximal acceleration for a massive particle and show that different values of this upper limit can be predicted in different physical situations.

The Relationship of Entrepreneurship Motivation and Perceived Challenges of University Students: Findings from Mentoring Log Data

open access: yesAAOS Transactions, 2022
Mentoring is an essential aspect of entrepreneurship development, especially in university settings. However, there is a lack of research on entrepreneurship mentoring. This study aims to understand how the level of entrepreneurial motivation of students
