Source Process Estimation for the 2024 Mw 7.1 Hyuganada, Japan, Earthquake and Forward Modeling Using N‐net Ocean Bottom Seismometer Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 10, 28 May 2025.
Abstract The source process of the 2024 Mw 7.1 Hyuganada, Japan, earthquake was investigated using waveform inversion of the onshore strong motion records obtained from the region west of the source area. The main fault rupture occurred 6–12 km south of the hypocenter, with a maximum slip of 4.2 m.

Seizmic response spectra [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2005
A computation of 1D and 3D seismic motion parameters was made and the influence of input parameters on these parameters were analysed. A modelling was realised on the examples of sedimentary structures geotechnical models.

Nonstationary Stochastic Simulation of Strong Ground-Motion Time Histories : Application to the Japanese Database [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For earthquake-resistant design, engineering seismologists employ time-history analysis for nonlinear simulations. The nonstationary stochastic method previously developed by Pousse et al. (2006) has been updated.

Dissipative CLT‐Based Seismic Upgrading System for RC‐Framed Structures: Experimental Characterization, Numerical Modelling, and Design Guidelines

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 54, Issue 6, Page 1775-1796, May 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates a seismic retrofit technique named e‐CLT, which is part of the solution for integrated seismic and energy rehabilitation of buildings developed in the framework of the research project e‐SAFE funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.

Stability evaluation of slopes of earth dams with account of soil rheological properties [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2012
Numeric model, methods and algorithm to evaluate the strength of earth dams were developed in the paper using Boltzmann-Volterra hereditary theory of viscoelasticity and Rzhanitsyn relaxation kernel.

Damage assessment and seismic response of steel buildings during the Kahramanmaraş, Turkey earthquakes of February 6, 2023

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 41, Issue 2, Page 1565-1588, May 2025.
On February 6, 2023, two earthquakes (Mw 7.8 and 7.5) occurred in Turkey. Notably, 10 provinces in Turkey and several others in Syria were subjected to severe ground shaking, resulting in a high number of casualties following the total and partial collapse of many reinforced concrete buildings.

Some problems in the application of spectrum techniques to strong-motion earthquake analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
A comparison of analog and digital computation of strong-motion earthquake response spectra is made, and it is shown that the preference as to method will depend mainly on availability of computing equipment.

Ground Motion, Estimated Shaking, and Structural Response at Campi Flegrei During Bradyseism

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 54, Issue 5, Page 1313-1323, 25 April 2025.
ABSTRACT Campi Flegrei, a densely populated volcanic area bordering the city of Naples (Italy), is currently undergoing volcanic unrest accompanied by seismic activity. Between August 2023 and December 2024, 32 events with duration magnitude (Md)$( {{{M}_d}} )$ equal to or larger than 2.5$2.5$ were recorded, with the largest one Md=4.4${{M}_d} = 4.4 ...

Numerical Investigation of the Seismic Behavior of Unanchored Steel Tanks with an emphasis on the Uplift Phenomenon

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2020
Ground steel storage tanks are widely used in different industries. Regarding the significance of these structures, ensuring the proper performance of such structures in earthquakes needs evaluating their seismic performance.
