Abstract Objectives To describe the rationale, design and data collection procedures of the Swedish CArdioPulmonary bioImage Study (SCAPIS) re‐examination, which, in its further scope, aims to quantify and explain the development of atherosclerosis, pathological cardiovascular ageing, longitudinal decline in lung function and the malignant ...

Associations between sedentary time, physical activity and bone health among older people using compositional data analysis [PDF]
Introduction : Aging is associated with a progressive decrease in bone mass (BM), and being physical active is one of the main strategies to combat this continuous loss.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the temporal relationships between accelerometer‐derived physical activity metrics—specifically volume, intensity, and timing—with the preceding and subsequent nights' sleep in preschool‐aged children. This analysis used the baseline data from a randomised controlled trial among 93 children (53 boys) aged 3–5.9 ...

Sleep Reactivity Amplifies the Impact of Pre‐Sleep Cognitive Arousal on Sleep Disturbances
This study investigates how sleep reactivity moderates the ‘stress‐pre‐sleep arousal‐sleep’ pathway in university students. At the within‐individual level, both high and low sleep‐reactive groups showed increased pre‐sleep cognitive arousal and sleep disruptions in response to elevated daily stress.

Smoothing of Gaussian quantum dynamics for force detection
Building on recent work by Gammelmark et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 111, 160401 (2013)] we develop a formalism for prediction and retrodiction of Gaussian quantum systems undergoing continuous measurements.

ABSTRACT Sleep is essential for normal physiological functioning, and sleep deprivation is typically compensated by increasing subsequent sleep duration and/or intensity. However, a recent study showed that barnacle geese (Branta leucopsis) exhibit seasonal variation in sleep homeostasis, with full recovery of sleep after sleep deprivation in summer ...

Gravimetry through non-linear optomechanics [PDF]
We propose a new method for measurements of gravitational acceleration using a quantum optomechanical system. As a proof-of-concept, we investigate the fundamental sensitivity for a cavity optomechanical system for gravitational accelerometry with a ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Neighborhood determinants of health have been documented in several populations, yet less is known about their role in pediatric obesity treatment. A systematic review of longitudinal studies examining associations between neighborhood environment features and changes in obesity and in lifestyle behaviors among children ...

A Systematic Review on Applications of Artificial Intelligence for Obesity Prevention
ABSTRACT This systematic review examines the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in preventing obesity, addressing a critical public health issue that affects a substantial portion of the population. With obesity rates rising alarmingly, particularly in the United States, this review synthesizes findings from 46 studies published between 2008 ...

Differential Relationship between Physical Activity and Intake of Added Sugar and Nutrient-Dense Foods: A Cross-Sectional Analysis [PDF]
A curvilinear relationship exists between physical activity (PA) and dietary energy intake (EI), which is reduced in moderately active when compared to inactive and highly active individuals, but the impact of PA on eating patterns remains poorly ...
