Tunable Enhancement of T Cell Expansion Through Modulation of Stiffness and Adhesion Receptor Engagement in an Engineered Hydrogel Platform

We develop a hydrogel scaffold with controlled substrate stiffness and ligand functionalization for cell culture. Stiff substrates presenting CD3/CD28/CD2 ligands induce 2000‐fold expansion of T cells; this is 68% greater than the clinical standard (Dynabeads) and the first hydrogel capable of large‐scale expansion. Emergent Motility of Self‐Organized Particle‐Giant Unilamellar Vesicle Assembly

Giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), when combined with silica particles under alternating electric fields, spontaneously self‐assemble into motile structures. Asymmetric particle decoration induces fluid flows that propel the assemblies, enabling persistent motion and reversible control.

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials.
