An availability-acceptability theory of suicide.
Activitas nervosa superior, 1988A theory was proposed to account for the appearance of suicide. The lack of immediate availability of the preferred means for killing oneself and the religious belief that suicide is an unacceptable action both serve to reduce the likelihood of suicide.
