Replaced or right accessory hepatic artery: Can ultrasound replace angiography?
Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 1988AbstractThe accuracy of ultrasonography in detecting the right hepatic artery was prospectively assessed in 128 patients undergoing abdominal angiography. Twenty‐five (19%) of the ultrasound studies were technically inadequate mainly because of gas superimposition.

The present report describes an unusual case of an aneurysm of a right hepatic artery (RHA) branching from the superior mesenteric artery; the accessory RHA was looped to the left hepatic artery arising from the celiac axis (CA) and was associated with congenital atresia of the CA.

ACCESSORY RIGHT HEPATIC ARTERY ARISING FROM THE LEFT
Transplantation, 1998Variant arterial anatomy must be recognized and appropriately managed during split liver transplantation to ensure complete vascular supply to both grafts. We describe an accessory posterior right hepatic artery, arising from the left and passing behind the portal vein bifurcation.Thirty-seven consecutive livers were examined during ex vivo liver ...

Knowledge of the standard anatomy and anomalies of the hepatic vessels is mandatory to obviate complications secondary to hepatic surgery, especially in liver transplantation, as well as in many radiological procedures such as transarterial chemoembolization for hepatic tumors.

Rare variation of hepatic blood supply with accessory right and left hepatic artery
Orvosi hetilap, 2022In recent decades, multiple studies have examined the various manifestations of the hepatic blood supply using anatomical preparation and imaging procedures (angiography, CT). Based on these observations, several classifications have emerged to determine blood supply types and their incidence rates.

Anatomic variants in the origin of the right hepatic artery have led to various approaches at the time of organ procurement for transplantation. Of special relevance is the presence of a replaced or accessory right hepatic artery arising independently from the superior mesenteric artery.

Clinical impact of right accessory hepatic artery injury in deceased donor livers
Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, 2011AbstractBackgroundRight accessory hepatic artery (RAHA) injury at retrieval is a rare complication of deceased liver procurement. Arterial reconstruction is often required under these circumstances which could potentially increase the risk of hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT).

The objective of our study was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of MDCT and conventional angiography in the detection of an accessory left gastric artery using CT hepatic arteriography as the standard of reference. The study group consisted of 118 patients who underwent MDCT with a triple-phase liver protocol with a slice thickness of 5 mm ...
