Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

Long non‐coding RNAs as therapeutic targets in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and clinical application

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

AAPM medical physics practice guideline 13.a: HDR brachytherapy, part B

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract The goal of this report is to assist the clinical medical physicist in assuring that key quality standards and practice considerations are met to ensure safe, reliable, and reproducible high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy (BT) treatment. This guideline has been developed to provide appropriate minimum standards for such services.

Orthodromic reciprocating tachycardia and heart failure in a dog with a concealed posteroseptal accessory pathway.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, 1995
A 4-month-old male Labrador Retriever was presented for recurrent bouts of pulmonary edema associated with tachycardia. Initial physical examination and echocardiography were unremarkable, and the electrocardiogram revealed only an intraventricular ...

An Analysis for IDH‐Mutant Grade 4 Astrocytoma Based on WHO CNS 5: Implication of Clinical Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose There is ongoing debate regarding the therapeutic approach and prognosis for IDH‐mutant grade 4 astrocytoma, a newly defined subtype of diffuse glioma in the 2021 WHO classification system for central nervous system tumors (WHO CNS 5). The aim of this study was to explore the clinical outcome and prognosticators for newly diagnosed IDH‐

Sevoflurane has no effect on sinoatrial node function or on normal atrioventricular and accessory pathway conduction in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome during alfentanil/midazolam anesthesia.

open access: yesAnesthesiology, 1999
BACKGROUND The effects of sevoflurane on the electrophysiologic properties of the human heart are unknown. This study evaluated the effects of sevoflurane on the electrophysiologic properties of the normal atrioventricular conduction system, and on the ...

Microphysiological Glomerular Filtration Barriers: Current Insights, Innovations, and Future Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The glomerular filtration barrier (GFB) is the first step of blood filtration by the kidneys. The concerning increase of kidney diseases makes the development of new models essential. In this context, microphysiological glomerular filtration barriers focus on closely reproducing the physiological architecture of the in vivo GFB: podocytes, glomerular ...

Performance Comparison of Surface Sensitizers for Diode Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Polyamide 12

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser‐generated nanoparticles transform standard PA12 powders into high‐performance, dye‐free feedstocks for diode laser 3D printing. Despite identical absorbance at 808 nm, CuS, LaB6, and CB coatings reveal striking differences in fusion and strength—unlocking new design space for recyclable, industrial‐grade polymers.

Catheter ablation of anteroseptal accessory pathways from the aortic cusps: A case series and a review of the literature

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2016
Data regarding catheter ablation of anteroseptal accessory pathways through the aortic cusps are limited. We describe two cases of true para-Hisian accessory pathways successfully ablated from the aortic cusps (right coronary cusp and non-coronary cusp ...
