Radiofrequency Ablation of Accessory Pathways in Chil- dren with Complex Congenital Cardiac Lesions: A Report of Three Cases

open access: yesJournal of Tehran University Heart Center, 2015
Catheter ablation is an accepted, highly effective modality of treatment for cardiac arrhythmias in children. The success rate depends on the operator’s experience, especially in cases involving complex anatomies.

Genetic Analysis of Axillary Meristem Development in Arabidopsis: Roles of MIR164, CUC1, CUC2, CUC3 and LAS, and identification of novel regulators. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Aerial architecture and reproductive success in higher plants is determined by the formation of secondary axes of growth which are formed by axillary meristems initiated post-embryonically in the axils of leaves.

Ro 31‐8220 suppresses bladder cancer progression via enhancing autophagy in vitro and in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The pan‐protein kinase C inhibitor Ro‐31‐8220 demonstrates potent anti‐bladder cancer effects both in vitro and in vivo by suppressing migration/invasion, inducing apoptosis and crucially activating autophagy, where blocking autophagy with chloroquine reduces its cell‐killing efficacy, suggesting its promise as a novel therapeutic candidate requiring ...

Longitudinal dissociation of atrioventricular accessory pathways

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 1991
Unusual properties of atrioventricular (AV) accessory pathways were found during electrophysiologic investigations in four patients (three men and one woman). Anterograde longitudinal dissociation of the accessory pathway was observed in two patients and retrograde longitudinal dissociation in two others.

Downregulation of sST2, a decoy receptor for interleukin‐33, enhances subcutaneous tumor growth in murine pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Subcutaneous implantation of murine Panc02 pancreatic cancer cells depleted of sST2, a soluble decoy receptor for the proinflammatory interleukin‐33 (IL‐33), leads to a decreased number of GLUT4‐positive cancer‐associated adipocytes, reduced levels of the anti‐inflammatory molecule adiponectin, increased phosphorylation of IκBα, elevated Cxcl3 ...

Transcriptional regulation of neuropeptide receptors underlies context‐dependent adaptation in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under environmental changes, the expression level of neuropeptide (NP) and neuropeptide receptor (NPR) genes changes to confer context‐dependent adaptation to the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. Through finding more regulatory elements in the NPR genes in comparison with their ligands (NPs), we found that NPR‐biased transcriptional regulation ...

Radiofrequency catheter ablation of accessory pathways and modification of atrioventricular node in children and adolescents

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1996
Catheter ablation of an accessory pathway and atrioventricular node modification using 550 kHz radiofrequency was attempted in 23 children and adolescents between five and 19 years of age (mean = 15.7 years). Fifteen children had accessory-pathway-
