An engineered peptide self‐assembled nanofiber platform, designed to replicate STING–cGAMP binding motifs, facilitates pH‐responsive cytosolic delivery of cGAMP, enhances the endoplasmic reticulum with high efficiency, and robustly activates the STING pathway.

An acute abdomen due to torsion of an accessory spleen: a case report [PDF]
Torsion of accessory splenic is a rare cause of acute abdomen that usually presents diagnostic challenges. This report presents a case of a 35-year-old diabetic male who was diagnosed with torsion of an accessory spleen (AS) on contrast enhanced CT scan ...

This study reveals that large tumors secrete more chemokine CXCL3, which recruits immunosuppressive neutrophils to the periphery, thereby impairing the activation and memory of systemic tumor‑reactive CD8+ T cells. CXCL3 antagonism restores systemic immune memory and enhances the antitumor efficacy of anti‑PD‑1 therapy, offering a potential strategy to

Acoustically Activatable Drug‐Loaded Nanodroplets for Mechanochemical Therapy in Solid Tumors
Microfluidically fabricated drug‐loaded nanodroplets are sequentially activated by dual‐frequency ultrasound through acoustic droplet vaporization followed by bubble collapse, enabling spatially controlled drug release and mechanical tumor fractionation, resulting in synergistic mechanochemotherapy and prolonged survival.

Where and when should a cancer vaccine be administered? A whole‐body PBPK model demonstrates that systemic immune transport critically determines vaccination efficacy. By simulating how organ‐specific immune interactions influence treatment response, the study provides a quantitative framework for optimizing cancer vaccination strategies.

Incomplete microwave ablation induces animmunosuppressive microenvironment in tumor‐draining lymph nodes. An albumin‐based lipoprotein nanosystem enables coordinated delivery of immunomodulators to tumor‐draining lymph nodes and residual tumors, reverses post‐ablation immunosuppression, suppresses residual tumor growth, and promotes durable antitumor ...

Accessory Splenectomy in the Management of Recurrent Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura
Although splenectomy for chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is successful in the majority of patients, recurrence of thrombocytopenia may occur in association with a functional accessory spleen, sometimes years after operation.

Vaccination promotes cellular infiltration into primary lesions and effectively inhibits T. pallidum dissemination to distal organs. Notably, transfer of lesion tissue from immunized animals fails to establish infection in naive recipients, confirming specific protective immunity.

Accessory spleens are usually located at the splenic hilum or pancreatic tail; ectopic pelvic sites are extremely uncommon. Wandering spleen, in contrast, results from laxity or absence of splenic ligaments and predisposes to torsion.

Synovial macrophages in osteoarthritis upregulate LSP1, which directly binds and inhibits SOD1, triggering a redox imbalance that activates both NOX and mitochondrial ROS pathways. This cascade drives the release of macrophage extracellular traps (METs), causing chondrocyte damage and disease progression.
