Core task analysis in accident investigation: analysis of maritime accidents in piloting situations
Cognition, Technology & Work, 2007This article discusses the difficulties in utilising accident analysis as the basis for the development of complex socio-technical systems, and how to improve accident analysis to better meet such aims. It focuses on two themes: accident models and experts’ involvement in accident investigation.

Applicability of accident analysis methods to Chinese construction accidents
Journal of Safety Research, 2019It is necessary to clearly understand construction accidents for preventing a rise in Chinese construction accidents and deaths. Better analysis methods are required for Chinese construction sector accidents.Choosing and analyzing a typical construction accident based on four popular contemporary accident causation models: STAMP, AcciMap, HFACS, and ...

Analysis of climbing accidents
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2000The fall of a climber is analyzed by realistic and comprehensive model calculations. Various parameters that define such a fall and the action of the belaying system to stop it are included in an equation describing the balance between the energy gained by the fall and the various channels of dissipation.

Accident Causation Factor Analysis of Traffic Accidents using Rough Relational Analysis
International Journal of Rough Sets and Data Analysis, 2016The aim of this study is to show that the decision rules generated from Rough Sets Theory can be used for a new relational analysis. Rough Sets Theory generally works with small datasets more than big data. If we can deal with the decision rules and its complexities, it is still possible to analyze big data with Rough Set Theory.

Industrial accidents triggered by flood events: Analysis of past accidents
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2010Industrial accidents triggered by natural events (NaTech accidents) are a significant category of industrial accidents. Several specific elements that characterize NaTech events still need to be investigated. In particular, the damage mode of equipment and the specific final scenarios that may take place in NaTech accidents are key elements for the ...
