Modal and Reflective Properties of Capacitive and Inductive Terahertz Metasurfaces
The propagation regimes of inductive and capacitive metasurfaces are analyzed to reveal the existence of leaky and plasmonic modes. The subtle connection between plasmonic modes and quasi bound‐in‐the‐continuum modes is also disclosed. Experimental validation is carried out through terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy where the frequency shiftof leaky ...

Bound States in the Continuum in Metasurface Absorbers: A Comparison with Metasurfaces
Bound states in the continuum (BICs) offer a powerful mechanism for enhancing light–matter interactions. This work systematically investigates the radiation characteristics of BICs under both transmission and reflection configurations using multipolar analysis.

Innovation and diffusion in risky industries under liability law: the case of “double-impact” innovations. [PDF]
We suggest a model of innovation and diffusion of a new technology in which two firms, one innovative and one non-innovative, undertake risky activities that are regulated by liability rules. One originality of this study is to consider the presence of a

From Rigid to Soft Robotic Approaches for Neuroendoscopy
Robotic assistance has had minimal impact on deep intraventricular surgeries, where small‐scale, precision, and reduced invasiveness can contribute to improved patient outcomes. Emerging technologies in rigid, soft, and hybrid robotics are reviewed to identify the most promising mechanisms for deep brain navigation in addition to an attempt to identify

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

This study presents a binary tumor‐microenvironment‐on‐a‐chip (T‐MOC) system incorporating multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTs) as an alternative preclinical platform to evaluate the efficacy of anticancer natural products. The T‐MOC model reproduces in vivo drug delivery barriers and physiological conditions, enabling morphological analysis to predict
