Accident prevention in radiotherapy

open access: hybridBiomedical Imaging and Intervention Journal, 2007
In order to prevent accidents in radiotherapy, it is important to learn from accidents that have occurred previously. Lessons learned from a number of accidents are summarised and underlying patterns are looked for in this paper. Accidents can be prevented by applying several safety layers of preventive actions.
