Connecting bright and dark states through accidental degeneracy caused by lack of symmetry
Coupled excitonic structures are found in natural and artificial light harvesting systems where optical transitions link different excitation manifolds. In systems with symmetry, some optical transitions are allowed, while others are forbidden.

Accidental parabolics in mapping class groups [PDF]
In this note we discuss the behavior of the Gromov boundaries and limit sets for the surface subgroups of the mapping class group with accidental parabolics constructed by the author and A. Reid in earlier work. Specifically, we show that generically there are no Cannon--Thurston maps from the Gromov boundary to Thurston's boundary of Teichmuller space.

A stable bio‐based nanocomposite coating for urinary catheters is developed using a simple, environmentally‐friendly sonochemical process. The coating, integrating antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and antioxidant properties, effectively tackled multiple early‐stage pathogenic factors associated with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections.
