The Radiative Transfer in Accretion Discs with Linear Plank Function: Role of Scattering Effect [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2020
Radiative transfer in a geometrically thin accretion disc with fnite optical depth is considered under the plane-parallel approximation. The Eddington factor that is defned as the ratio of the mean intensity to radiation stress tensor, is assumed be ...

No-z Model for Magnetic Fields of Different Astrophysical Objects and Stability of the Solutions

open access: yesData, 2021
A wide range of astrophysical objects, such as the Sun, galaxies, stars, planets, accretion discs etc., have large-scale magnetic fields. Their generation is often based on the dynamo mechanism, which is connected with joint action of the alpha-effect ...

Magnetic fields with random initial conditions in discs with Kepler rotation curve

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2023
Magnetic fields of various astrophysical objects are described using the dynamo mechanism. Corresponding equations in the three-dimensional case are quite difficult to be solved. So, the two-dimensional models can be useful for such problems.

Warped Accretion Discs [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 2003
In this article we report the results of our numerical investigation of warped accretion discs in binary stellar systems. We perform complete 3-D hydrodynamic simulations of binary discs. The disc is rendered unstable to the warp mode under the action of the magnetic field of the companion star in the binary.

Eccentric accretion discs [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1994
We obtain evolutionary equations for non-stationary viscous accretion discs in which particles are orbiting along Keplerian ellipses that are slowly drifting towards the centre. It is shown that, for any reasonable viscosity law, stationary accretion is possible, with all orbiting particles moving with the same eccentricity.

Physics of “Cold” Disk Accretion onto Black Holes Driven by Magnetized Winds

open access: yesGalaxies, 2019
Disk accretion onto black holes is accompanied by collimated outflows (jets). In active galactic nuclei (AGN), the kinetic energy flux of the jet (jet power or kinetic luminosity) may exceed the bolometric luminosity of the disk by a few orders of ...

Observational Implications of OJ 287’s Predicted 2022 Disk Impact in the Black Hole Binary Model

open access: yesGalaxies, 2023
We present a summary of the results of the OJ 287 observational campaign, which was carried out during the 2021/2022 observational season. This season is special in the binary model because the major axis of the precessing binary happens to lie almost ...

Hot Accretion Flow in Two-Dimensional Spherical Coordinates: Considering Pressure Anisotropy and Magnetic Field

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
For systems with extremely low accretion rate, such as Galactic Center Sgr A* and M87 galaxy, the ion collisional mean free path can be considerably larger than its Larmor radius. In this case, the gas pressure is anisotropic to magnetic field lines.
