Can Ti‐Based MXenes Serve as Solid Lubricants for Brake Applications? A Tribological Study
This study explores the first implementation of Ti‐based MXenes materials in brake pad friction composite material. The resulting composite material exhibits a 48% reduction in the wear rate; alongside significant improvements are observed for thermal and mechanical properties.

Measuring Protoplanetary Disk Accretion with H I Pfund β [PDF]
In this work, we introduce the use of H I Pfund β (Pfβ; 4.6538 μm) as a tracer of mass accretion from protoplanetary disks onto young stars. Pfβ was serendipitously observed in NIRSPEC and CRIRES surveys of CO fundamental emission, amounting to a sample ...

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Accretion properties of T Tauri stars in sigma Ori
Accretion disks around young stars evolve in time with time scales of few million years. We present here a study of the accretion properties of a sample of 35 stars in the ~3 million year old star-forming region sigma Ori.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Secret of Longevity: Protoplanetary Disks as a Source of Gas in Debris Disks
While protoplanetary disks (PPDs) are generally thought to disperse within several million years, recent observations have revealed gas in their older counterparts, debris disks.

Recent years have shown that accretion disks around young stars have extended regions, which are too low ionized to couple to magnetic fields and thus the nature of the underlying turbulence cannot be exclusively magnetic. We also found that disks have

Thin accretion disks around traversable wormholes
In this paper, we aim to investigate various physical properties and characteristics of radiation emerging from the surface of accretion disks, in a rotating traversable axially symmetric wormhole spacetime of the Teo class.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
