Numerical and experimental studies on press-bolt joints for sheet metal applications - Static strength assessment

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Joining Processes, 2022
The article is about press-bolts which are installed by cold forming in sheet metal constructions. Those fasteners belong to functional elements available in form of press-nuts as well as press-bolts. This paper is focused on press-bolt joints, which are

Goal driven optimization of process parameters for maximum efficiency in laser bending of advanced high strength steels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Laser forming or bending is fast becoming an attractive option for the forming of advanced high strength steels (AHSS), due primarily to the reduced formability of AHSS when compared with conventional steels in traditional contact-based forming processes.

The influence of process parameters on the temperature development in the forming zone [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Cold metal forming is a fast and economical way of producing a wide range of precise components. Its profitability mainly depends on part quality, process stability and service intervals of tools.

Accurate parallel form filter synthesis

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
Standard algorithms for synthesising parallel form digital filters are adequate for basic applications. However, recursive filters required in acoustics synthesis applications often have very high orders, and errors from filter synthesis can become intolerable. The authors describe a new method for synthesising parallel form recursive filters.

Tool And Blank Interaction In The Cross-Die Forming Process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The deformation of the press and the forming tools during a deep drawing process is small. However, it has a significant influence on the formed product, since the draw-in is affected significantly by this deformation. This effect is demonstrated for the

Accurate closed-form solution of the SIR epidemic model

open access: yesPhysica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 2020
An accurate closed-form solution is obtained to the SIR Epidemic Model through the use of Asymptotic Approximants (Barlow et. al, 2017, Q. Jl Mech. Appl. Math, 70 (1), 21-48). The solution is created by analytically continuing the divergent power series solution such that it matches the long-time asymptotic behavior of the epidemic model.

The Effect of Tool Path Strategy on Twist Behavior In Single Point Incremental Sheet Metal Forming

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2023
In Incremental sheet metal forming process, one important step is to produce tool path, an accurate tool path is one of the main challenge of incremental sheet metal forming process. Various factors should be considered prior to generation of the tool

Modelling Induction Heating of Aluminium Sheets for Hot Stamping

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
Hot forming of aluminium sheets enables the forming of complex shapes with high-strength alloys due to increased formability at elevated temperatures.
