Polarons in acetanilide

Physical Review B, 1989
The best available data are presented of the integrated intensity of the 1650-${\mathrm{cm}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$ band in crystalline acetanilide as a function of temperature. A concise theory of polaron states is presented and used to interpret the data.

Oxidative para-Triflation of Acetanilides

Organic Letters, 2013
Direct triflation of acetanilide derivatives with silver triflate has been accomplished under mild iodine(III)-mediated oxidative conditions. The reaction shows excellent regioselectivity for the para position and tolerates a range of ortho and meta substituents on the aromatic ring. This method is also compatible with the preparation of arylnonaflates

Bromination of Acetanilide

Journal of Chemical Education, 1996
A general procedure for bromination of aromatic compounds activated with electron donating substituents such as acetamido, hydroxyl, or ether groups is described. Bromine is generated in situ from potassium bromate and hydrobromic acid. This procedure avoids the hazards associated with direct handling of bromine or bromine solutions.
