Reverse Regioselective Dicarbofunctionalization via Anti‐Michael‐Type Addition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A reverse regioselective dicarbofunctionalization of acrylamides via anti‐Michael‐type addition is reported. Various (hetero)arene nucleophiles and carbon electrophiles were incorporated in a manner opposite to conventional regioselectivity. A key feature of this reaction is the formation of an alkylpalladium intermediate, which enables the achievement

Access to N‐Monofluoromethylated (Thio)Carbamates, Formamides, Alkynamides, and Related Derivatives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first general synthetic access to N‐CH₂F and N‐CHRF carbamates, thiocarbamates, formamides, alkynamides, and related compounds is disclosed. The method involves the direct synthesis of carbamoyl fluoride building blocks from readily available amines, followed by their derivatization. Abstract This work presents the first general synthetic access to

Rhodium‐Catalyzed Intermolecular Arylative [2 + 2 + 1] Annulation–Oxidation to Produce Electron‐Deficient Azulene‐Embedded Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The synthesis of electron‐deficient azulene‐embedded polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been achieved by the rhodium‐catalyzed intermolecular arylative [2 + 2 + 1] annulation of teraryl diynes with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates followed by oxidation at room temperature.

Isoreticular Synthesis of Mesoporous Metal‐Organic Polyhedra with Permanent Porosity to Gas and Water

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
In this work, we report the synthesis of two robust, mesoporous metal‐organic cages or polyhedra (MOCs/MOPs) using an isoreticular expansion approach. Among them, the largest mesoporous MOP captures up to 0.47 gwater·gMOP−1, displaying an S‐shaped water sorption isotherm with a hysteresis loop.
